1987 GMC S15 2.8 litre injector problem

What tells the injectors to open when starting the vehicle. Some vehicles it goes through the ignition module, some go through a relay. Both are in working order on this vehicle, what else could it be? Please help, and thanks.

Hello maxwedge, thanks for the welcome.
My freind owns the vehicle and I the computer. He says the vehicle will not start. They have taken the ignition module to O'Reillys and to Auto Zone and both places it tested ok. He wants to know if the computer tells the injectors to open. Thank you for your time.

Yes from the signal from the ign. module.

Thank you. He just wanted t o make sure it was not something weird like a crankshaft or camshaft sensor or some kind of relay before he laid money down for a new computer.
