Mpg On Engines

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the mileage on a couple of engines for me. A 318, 383, 426 and a 440. All of them stock. It would be a big help. Thanks.

Re: Mpg On Engines

In what car, with what gearing and transmission, this question is almost impossible to answer!

Ok just to let you know this account was made by a 12 year old with no motor vehicle experience, so there will be wrong answers posted to peoples questions. This is his older brother replying just to make him happy. Say it's a 69' Charger with a A-727 and a set of 4:10's. I don't know if Dodge even offered a set of 4:10's, just guessing.

Re: Mpg On Engines

Ok, I see the pic, I kinda thought so. I had a similar car back in the day. With a 440 driving conservatively, 4.10's which was a very high gear for normal driving, most were 3.23's, anyway 8-13. I hope he is having fun. Knowing this now he can ask all he wants, look at my sign., that was a record holding 426 Maxwedge car, no mpg figs. for that one!

Yeah I'm ok with him asking specific questions and reading other peoples posts to learn, but he's jumping in trying to answer questions on tranny problems and air compressors. I don't want him giving out false information.
