1987 F250 diesel, fuel switch for dual tanks

First Problem: I switch the tanks over and it shows that they switched, but it was still using fuel from the first tank, even though the gauge said that it was switched.

Second problem: a day later I tried to switch the tank again and the gauge showed that the tank I was trying to switch to was past full. Neither of the tanks were past full.

Third problem: The next day the other tank did the same as in problem 2.

I checked the fuel fuse, I do not know where the relay switch is. Please help if you can!

If you have (if you don't you should have) the '80 -'96 Ford Pickups and Bronco Haynes manual, they have a check for this. It is on page 4-11. It is pretty complicated to post all right here. If you don't have a Haynes manual send me an email and I can send you scans of the pages you need. [email protected]
