97 Fod Contour. Door/Lock question

runaround The Driver side door lock (not keylock..the part on side of door) is shot and i'm trying to remove it so i can replace it. Able to get in but can't figure out how to detach the door handle so i can take the entire mechanism out as one unit (let me know if you know of a way to take out the lock while leaving handle/keylock in place) . The handle/keylock are held in place seemingly by two bolts but after taking them off it doesn't seem to move at all...i'm guessing plastic nibs that clip into the metal door.

Any help is appreciated as i don't want to damage inside/outside of door
