Unhappy Temp and Fuel Guage not working

Okay so i've got a 99 Sonoma with the 2.2 4cyl 5speed. The motor blew @ 160,000 miles and i had a new motor put in. Everything was working until recently. The mechanic who did the engine swap checked everything out and couldn't find anything. I'm aggervated and need some help!

Re: Temp and Fuel Guage not working

Welcome Aboard!

Sorry for the slow response.

The two problems may be related, or may be coincidental. Both get their power through the GAGE fuse, but so do several other devices. Both are also connected through the instrument panel backplane connectors, and those can work loose over time, especially on an older or higher mileage vehicle.

The IP trim bezel can be unsnapped from the dash, and the IP can be removed and the connectors cleaned and inspected fairly easily.

The connectors are part of the dash and IP back. They connect when the IP is bolted in place:

Re: Temp and Fuel Guage not working

Okay i've took all that out and now i'm not evens sure what is wrong, everything seems to be in place, i have a 98 Century that the PRND321 was out in and it was a resistor that was bad, could it be that as well and if so how do i replace the correct ones?

Thanks guys!
