Spark Plugs

When I had my 99 I was told by several people that the NGKtr55's were the best alla round plug for the 5.3 engine.

Now that I have a 98 with the 5.7, what is the best plug to use? I want something thats close to factory.

Re: Spark Plugs

A C Delco(can't get any more factory than that ). They make a platinum plug, and a rapid fire plug version for these trucks. I've used the Delcos in my '94 1/2 ton since it was brand new and never had any problems.

Re: Spark Plugs

Do you mean the replacement factory ones( like the 41-932 plug)? The answer is yes. Here's a link that can give you more info:http://www.acdelco.com/parts/sparkplugs/

Re: Spark Plugs

Yep. I mean the ones just like the ones that came in it from the factory, unless there is a better alternative.

Reason I'm changing is.. When I had so much trouble with the head gasket, the dumbass who fixed it under warranty broke one of my plugs and replaced it with some cheap-o, so now I have 7 factory plugs, and 1 random generic brand. It might not be hurting anything but I don't like it.

Re: Spark Plugs

I would stick with AC Delco but does anyone know anything about the E3 sparkplugs?

Re: Spark Plugs

Those ac platinums are great. I don't really know why I replaced my first set at 110k- there was very little wear if any. Now I'm at 217k, so I might just have to pull one to see what it looks like
