Re: Painted my TB today

Nice job! I'm curious about your red hoses...Hose Techniques? I got a blue set but am debating about when to put them on...

I'm getting my engine bay detailed as well--both my intake plenum and valve cover has been sent to Late Night Customs for polishing. I'll post pics once I get 'em back.

Re: Painted my TB today

Honestly, the hoses are from Ebay. Good price and look nice All the painting was done by myself, I try and save as much money as possible. I like my red valve cover but I have thought of getting a polished one to match my plenum, but when you're on a tight budget it's tough to shell out money for someting so small.

Re: Painted my TB today

Yea I did it to contrast my exterior green with the engine red, but it came out a little brighter than expected.

Re: Painted my TB today

very nice... I used the same paint...

Checkout my avatar, this is my VC (for an Eagle Talon)... Do that to yours instead of getting a polished one...

<---- The center(silver) is just that base coat(Metalcast)... looks a good contrast with the red (like the letters do)

I'll send ya a bigger pic of it if ya want (this was my first paint job, and you'll notice a few red spots where the silver is, the tape must've gapped when I was sprayin')

Re: Painted my TB today

Its a small pic but it does look very nice. Isn't that paint great? cheap too. What I will be doing though is getting a polished spark plug cover for mine with the 3000GT logo on it so the contrast will look pretty nice.

Re: Painted my TB today

yes, the paint is very nice for the price. Though after a year, my vc has started chipping in places(around bolt holes) and lost some of the sparkles.

I spent about $50, and had all the stuff to clean, prep, and paint my: VC, Fuel rail, slave cylinder(that was interesting, lol), TB elbow, and a few other things (I can't recall, it's been so long).

That also included cleaning supplies for the TB, IM, gaskets and the such... So I made out like a bandit.
