Legacy 95 (Bad CV Joint boot)

I had the boot (rubber cover that's behing the front right wheel)replaced on my Legacy 95. Sory for my ignorance. When the mechanic pulled out that long steel rode that held the boot and all the oil dripped I said "I think the transmission will never run again". But he replacee the boot and put that long rood back in the transmishion axle and said it was fixed. I said great $25 jod. Well great, well I brought it to the local car wash and hosed down the transmishion and all that oil with degreser. It all washed off, and then I noticed that some oil was driping from the AWD transaxel were he inserted the long rood(smoke all over, oil driping on the muffler). Well I brought it back he took it all apart again and said that it apperas he had'nt noticed that the seal had a problem. A circular spring that goes around the rubber seal in the transmishion had come loose. He tried to put it back for about 3 hours with no luck. He than called a friend that repaires transmishions. He removed a circular cover on the transmishion and was able to easily put the circular spring on the rubber seal. Well the mechanic said he never wanted to see a Subaru for as long as he lives. I washed that transmishion with degreser and it still leaks(smoke when i drive). Can anyone give some advise as to what is the part that needs to be replaced, and has anyone ever had this happen to them. Thanks , Signed completly lost????????

Re: Legacy 95 (Bad CV Joint boot)

I had a good mechanic replace the seal on the transmission, and that fixed the problem. Thanks anyways.
