HO 4.7L or NOT?
I recently acquired a 2004 4.7L Dakota 4x4 and the throttle response and power of this engine "seems" to be noticeably more than the 2005 4.7L Dakota 4x4 I had a year ago. The VIN build sheet from the dealer does not list the engine as HO (I do not have the code with me) but as "xxx - New Generation 4.7L Magnum". Does anyone know how to definitively tell whether I have the HO engine or not? TB part number or intake part number?
Thanks! |

Re: HO 4.7L or NOT?
4.7 H.O. wasn't an option on the 04 models.

Re: HO 4.7L or NOT?
Thanks! Yep, that is what the dealer said too! I will continue to look to try and see what the differences are. The exhaust on the 04 does not have the "huge" muffler? that the 05 has. I guess the difference could be in the fuel/air curves as well.
Is the 2004 service manual available on CD or online anywhere?

Re: HO 4.7L or NOT?
There's afew things different from the regular 4.7 and H.O. Cams, intake, etc, etc... You can search it online if you want too.
I do have a 2001 service manual in pdf format if you would like, it's free and online. Wont be much different comparing the 01 to 04 models. |

Re: HO 4.7L or NOT?
Thanks all for the info. Thanks for the offer on the 01 Service Manual but, I ordered a 04 Service Manual on CD the other day -- looking forward to getting it!
