ranger v/s escort=

presently driving 1999 escort lx(automatic) a/c with 110,000 miles on it. i can get a 1998 ranger xl (regular cab) (automatic) 4 cylinder,a/c with 100,000 on it for $2750(private owner). i find the escort is quick enough for my driving style. question - do you think the 4 cylinder ranger is about the same? i,m mostly looking for durability and think the ranger is a better vehicle.

Re: ranger v/s escort=

The ranger is going to to be heavier, probably a little slower. Drive it to find out if you like the handling and speed. It won't be as good in the snow as the escort. I think the Ranger is a well built truck. My 94 has 140000k on it and has held up great. But I do have 4.0 engine
