Turn signal switch replacement
Anyone replace a turn signal switch on a 2001 Cherokee? Mine occasionally sticks and makes a "sizzling" noise, which as an electrician, tells me I've got contacts wearing out. It looks like to me that the shrouds covering the column need to be removed to get to it, unlike my old Fairlane which had to have the wheel removed to get to it. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Turn signal switch replacement
Thanks wwwildman. The info is useful, but I think it applies to cars without airbags, like my '67 Fairlane, in which I replaced the turn signal switch a few years ago. Talk about fun! ;-)! All those wires crammed inside the column! I finally did a little more digging in the CD shop manual, and I think I've got it narrowed down. Looks like the switch is located inside the rectangular plastic "box" between th wheel and the dashboard. That manual is a little hard to get used to.
I really appreciate the fast reply! Thanks again! |
