Cartier 2003 trunk release

My trunk lid is stuck hooked down to the second catch which leaves it about 1 inch open. It will neither open nor close with any of the operators, all remote. There is no key release. There is no way into the trunk from the rear seat. The remote fob, door code and push button all give a click noise when pushed, which means, I think, that the unit is almost closed and has not hit a limit switch, but the motor has wound down to the internal closed limit.

I recently acquired this car, warranty is over. The unit worked fine since I bought it.

Can someone advise how to reset and open this thing,

I had included this on another thread but got no reply yet.

Re: Cartier 2003 trunk release

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for >15 minutes?
This practice is part of the initialization process.

Also;
I've copied the process of Trunk Lid Diagnosis to a PDF, and hosted it here:
http://primeupload.com/file/128735/2...nkLid.pdf.html

Looks like they make you wait 45 seconds prior to download. I can never find a decent PDF host.
