Cool What should i do to a Honda Crx Si????????

Ok heres what im going to do. Im going to buy a honda crx si(Shell Only). No engine or tranny. Then ima going to start from scratch. Im going to do one thing each month. Like body work, Buy engine, buy ecu, buy, bolt ons, buy internals ECT... But here is my question what engine should i get to make the crx a 10 sec car. Keep in mind that im going to do ALL internals and ALL bolt ons. The car will be compleatly gutted out. No a/c, No power steering. Im going turbo with nos. The car will be all JDM. Car will be done with in a year. Ill will keep picks posted. But here are my questions to those of the JDM world who know more than me.

1. What engine should i get?
2. What tranny?
3. What tires?
4. Greddy or turbonetics?
5. What nitros kit?
6. What size bore out?
7. What internal makers?( I want all internals)
8. What is the best year for crx si?

Re: What should i do to a Honda Crx Si????????

I'll give you straight answers.

1. Get the Exospeed "Special K24-T" K-series Turbo complete motor. You'll have to buy all the other K series parts like the harness and manifolds separate.
2. Get a K20 trans from a CTR with LSD. Then have it rebuild with a Quaif LSD, and the works. Don't forget a solid clutch/flywheel combo.
3. Get drag slicks some super light wheels.
4. No kits - you'll need to piece together your own kit, i.e. the turbo, manifold, downpipe, 3 bar MAP, injectors, fuel pump, FPR, BOV, wastegate, boost controller, charge piping, intercooler, and lines and fittings. You'll also need to pay to have it tuned. Don't tell me you wanted to run an FMU on your 10 second rex.
5. All kits are equal, just make sure you run about a 300 shot.
6. Already done.
7. Already done.
8. Trick question, if you want a 10 second car, start with a CRX HF, not an SI. HF's are lighter.
9. Let's not forget suspension, a roll cage, hardcore axles, and all the other miscellaneous parts that a race car needs.

Now since we're looking about upwards of 20k total expenditure here, I suggest you post a budget or else this question is utterly worthless.

Yeah. It is. I'd probably use the B18 or B20. Still would require alot of money.

Re: What should i do to a Honda Crx Si????????

stock internal B series w/ a good turbo setup in a gutted CRX will easily hit 10s and still be streetable. If you want a completely reliable fun DD and track car, i would build a piston/rod GSR and pick up an SLS shorty ramhorn w/ an STC Silver Surfer....that combo would make upper 400s to low 500s w/ race gas w/o losing streetability...you could shoot for more power, but it isn't necessary
