Did I kill the blue box

1997 S10 pickup just bought for my son's first , ran fine for a few months then started randomly dieing, I looked at it found a loose neg. battery cable tightened , boosted cranked and ran fine all the way home.

(randomly dieing= would start fine and idle well till you put it in to drive (auto trans) then might die might not? I did notice less that 10 volts on alt. gauge before boosting when problem starting existed, sometimes when boosting alt. gauge will come up to 12 volts sometimes not, before next paragraph)

Being old school after we got it home I decided to check the alt. the old way by disconnecting the neg battery cable while engine was running , ran about 20 seconds then died now it will not fire at all. Engine cranks fine, 13 volts on battery, 9 volts on dash alt guage, no fire on spark plugs.

I think IGN switch is bad but did I fry the computer to?

Also would love a useable link to the Emergency flasher replacement button.

Re: Did I kill the blue box

Do you have spark to plugs does the fuel pump prime up on key on prime?

Being it is a 97 I would check and test ign switch power feeds.
Also check all fuses.

4 or 6 cylinder?
Is anything else not working?
There is a lot of fuse links and fuses on the ststem.
Check underhood box for 12 volt power and fuses.
Check out ign switch power feeds.
