REAL Carbon fiber hood

Anyone know of any sites in which I can get a REAL carbon fiber hood for under $500.00 with a perfect fitment?? Please do not say ebay unless you honestly can say the seller is legit. If i'ma gonna spend more thang $300.00, I ain't taking my chances on ebay. Or how about a decent looking aftermarket hood?? I'm painting my car and I have to buy a new hood. Well why not spring an extra couple 100 bucks and get somethang decent I thought. Thanks in advance fellas.

Re: REAL Carbon fiber hood

Did you just ask if black on black would clash? I'm sitting here at my job as a graphic designer where I deal with colors and all that jazz and read that and almost fell out of my chair. Clashing would be something like bright orange and bright purple or something. A color, (black) plus the same color (black) will not "clash".

And yes, they're expensive.

LoL, yea i'm good for dumb questions. So I guess I'll just get the Carbon Fiber hood, wet sand it, and put on a couple coats of clear for protection.

Re: REAL Carbon fiber hood

Why would you clear your carbon fiber hood? Unless you are putting color on it to just spraying clear on it serves no purpose.

For a better long lasting protection. According to the vendors, The clear on the carbon fiber hood is just a light coat. I was told that alot of shops will wet sand them and re-clear them for better eviromental protection from like UV rays, Bird crap, Tree sapp, rocks and shit.

Re: REAL Carbon fiber hood

Yea, re-clearing sounds like a good idea. I have never had a carbon fiber hood....not yet anyways. But two of my buddies (one has 2gb RS and the other has an evo 8) both bought VIS carbon hoods and both had problems with the clear. The guy with the evo said his was crap after a year. I'd reclear if possible.
