Im gonna say McLaren F1. An entire decade older than the Enzo and just as good. In many respects, far better. But then, the Enzo is much cheaper. All in all, two sensational cars but the McLaren F1 will live longer in peoples' memories.

Still the F40 and F50 are as well known as the F1

i'd say the enzo. you get get so much more of a complete package with the enzo. the mclarens handling was only known to be exceptable for a car with that power. the enzo is suppose to blow the F40 and F50 away in the handling department. the car alone already looks like F1 car with its wheels covered up.

I wouldnt say the F50 is. You also have to take into account the impact the car made when it was released. And the F50 didnt live up to the F40, which is a superior car.

I dont think any car has matched the McLaren's release, except of course the Miura.

I dont know if it blows away the F40 in terms of handling. In terms of speed, sure, but handling im not so sure. The F40 was such a pure supercar, a sort of 500bhp Elise. It's the perfect supercar for me

The F1 became the car that it is because it broke the top speed record for a production car. It is also quite practical having 3 seats and all its fancy add-ons. This being said there are many cars out there that are both faster in some aspects of straighht line speed and also handling. The Enzo is one of those cars. Handling is the best judge of a car, and the Enzo is a far better handling car. Other cars which will be quicker on a circuit than either of these two are cars like the Mercedes Benz CLK-GTR, 911 GT1 and Dauer 962 amongst others. In fact the Dauer 962 is quicker in a straight line too, whilst the CLK-GTR has a better mid range than the F1. As these are all homologation specials it may be unfair to compare them, but they are undeniably faster. As for the amin comparison, Enzo vs. F1, give me the Enzo anyday of the week.

I'd argue that they are "the" most exoctic cars in the world, but of the two I'd go with the McLaren

I would personaly rather own the McLaren, but for entirly personal reasons, the name and its meanign to many Kiwis being one of them.

However I think you would have to be a bit of a fool to think it was the better car in terms of performance. The Enzo has over a decade in technological and enginering advances over the McLaren, and from what Iv seen it is the better handling and easier to drive car.

It has that much more? Considering the McLaren engine is from a BMW 850 (not positive about the model number) - I would think that their is plenty of engineering history in the car. As for performance, they are both so far out of my league I couldn’t even give them a proper run.

What mopie meant is that the enzo is almost a 10 years newer car. Therefore using from the ground up the newest technologies. Also lets not forget that the enzo its based on the know how of the current best F1 team.

You got it.

And the engine in the McLaren is a specialy built version of the V12 that was used in the top of the range 7 series. I cant remember if it was a 750i or 760i or 850i

Considering the cost of the car its possible, but I think underneath you will find it is just a heavily revised version of 7 series engine. Prehaps same block and crank with everything else changed to suit the F1
