Damn P0440 !!!
Hi Guys
Since last week I getting this dam OBD Code P0440 One thing for sure I know it's concerning Evap Control Sytems. I change my Gas Cap Twice without any effect. What could be causing this Code? Can I drive without Problem is it Harmful for my engine? Please advise

Although DTC P0440 is typically a bad gas cap it is classified as a large leak causing a vacuum related problem in the evaporative emissions system or a purge problem like blockage.
Check the lines at the evaporative purge solenoid, evaporative cannister and to the gas tank at the fuel pump assembly. Other than the annoying SES/CEL light when the DTC sets you should be able to drive it and it should not harm your engine. However, try to get it resolved as soon as possible since it is failing emissions (IM) status.

Hi there !
Thanks for your reply There no Emission test here ( IM Status ) in Quebec so I'm ok !!  Where the heck is this evaporative Purge Solenoid & Canister in my Grand Prix GT 2001 3.8 L Engine compartment ? Is there any kind of visual things I need to check for ? Do you have a Picture of the location to show me ? I'm not a Mechanic , I'm Electrician  Can I repair it myself ? Can I test it to see if it's working proprely ?  Thanks in Advance Ciao Marco V. If you are under the car, the tank is looking you in the face, push yourself alittle bit further, and you will see a small little box infrount of the tank, that ma not be letting out pressure. Do you speak French? I was brought up on Europen french.

Did you have any recent work done on the fuel pump?

thnaks for the pictures
Yesterday I was checking if all the connections in that aera was ok Until I noticed one of the line was 1/4 off. So I play it with it, I start My car and the check engine light came off. I think one of the line ( Plastic is tearing apart) I will put one tie rod. Will see if the light will came back. Ciao Marco V.
