what kind of trannie fluid should I use

I have a 2003 jetta, four banger, automatic. I checked the trannie fluid during a routine check up and noticed it was very low. It was the reservoir next to the coolant bubble. anyway I just need to know what kind of trannie fluid to use. is it ATF, AQT, or is it some kind of gear oil. Please if anybody knows that would be great.
