Question Z6 swap - Tech Question

Ok, to start off- yes i did a search. I also have read many threads on Z6 swaps in rexes too. I might be getting an 89 CRX HF (MT of course), and I want to do a D16Z6 SOHC VTEC swap. 89-91 Si trans, P28 ECU (OBDI), and hopefully the GReddy turbo kit w/ fmic. I dont want to use the PM6 w/ a VTEC controller. I want to do it right w/ the P28 and run OBDI. The thing that im confused about is the wiring and OBDI. If I got the Entire 5G EX wiring harness and the P28 ECU, would i need one of those OBD0 to OBDI conversion harnesses? I dont think that I would, but Im not 100% sure. If anyone knows for sure please let me know....thanx in advance

i know this isn't the answer you're looking for but...it needs to be said. i say skip the conversion and get a wiring harness. i have heard so many people ruin their car's harness trying to convert it. it's worth every penny of the $150 to just extend 8 wires and the rest is plug and play.

half way through my swap we discovered the dizzy rotor was busted and of course nobody had one in stock on a sunday. so mine ended up the rpm switch route whenever i get around to turbo i'll go back to p28....waaaay better route.

i know the pics are big...sorry...but gves you a good view of the conversion harness

thanx ami I'm on Honda-Tech a lot, and there's a guy over (blown90hatch) there that sells those for like $150. Your pics look just like his...maybe that is his...lol Anyways, I agree w/ you that it is well worth the $150. Someone on H-T gave me a very good link on how to do the OBD0 to OBDI conversion- it is: http://www.geocities.com/kurtsi_on/page7.html I cant believe that the wiring for this swap is more complex than the B16 wiring (4 wires added to stock harness plus a ground)...well, actually i can- since you are upgrading to newer electronics w/ different plugs. thanx again ami
