Trans/ Cruise Control problem

ok, driving on nj turnpike at around 75, i was setting the cruise control and the the trans went into passing gear. After that, the car started bucking only when cruise was on. now, the speedometer barely works, it was jumping constantly, and now it doesnt work. Now the check engine light is on Any help????

Check the connection at your speed sensor, if okay change the sensor.

On the drivers side of the transmission there is a wiring harness plugged into it. Sort of looks like a round tube sticking out the side of the transmission. make sure you dont force the bolt when removing it, they tend to get a little rusty you dont want it to snap.
