Plug Wires and Engine layout

Hey guys, Guess i should just clear this up. I do Auto Body work and little mechanical work here and there on GM cars(which i am much more familiar with then Fords). Anyways, im doing my buddy a big ass favor he has a 1999 Ford Taurus with the 3.0 v6 motor duel overhead cam. im gonna change his spark plugs and put a new Starter in for him. I have only been under the hood of his car once and that was a while ago. Can someone tell me where the spark plugs are located on a Ford Taurus, at a glance i didnt spot them, and where the hell is the starter on this car so i can put the new on in. Just let me know in as much detail as possible. Thanks

Re: Plug Wires and Engine layout

To find the plugs, just follow the wires. When you do the plugs, be sure to use anti-seize compound(sparingly) on the new plugs to prevent them seizing to the head. As for the starter, it is right underneath the oil filter which is located on the side of the engine closest to the front end. You may have to remove the oil filter to get clearance to remove the starter. I have a 98 Taurus and they should be the same. Good luck.
