Auto 4Wheel?

i have a 99 explorer sport with a 4.0 sohc motor and it has auto 4 wheel/4hi/4lo selevtor knob and im wondering if there is ne way to disengage the auto 4 wheel or get rid if it entirely?

I think the above thread was for a newer system than what is on your 99 Explorer. This one applies to your year model if you want to try it.

If you want to pay for it, a Ford dealer can change the computer programming.
