Keyless remote not working

This may sound really bad but I changed the battery in the keyless remote and now it does not work. Any suggestions.

After changing the battery in your remote, simply go near the vehicle and hold LOCK & UNLOCK on the remote for 7 seconds and the vehicle will resync with the remote.
