lincoln ls starting problem

I own a 2000 Lincoln Ls and about two days ago i was leaving my job to go home and it didnt start. now this happened before but it always started like 5 minutes later after i kept trying. But this time I tried like 10 times to start it and nothing happened. Now when i try to start it the fuse box in the engine clicks but it only three of the fuses that click. I tried to jump it two seperate times but it never starts. It wont even attempt to turn over only the fuse box starts clicking again. At first ppl were saying that maybe the starter or the seloniod were bad but since they arent the things that are clicking. They now think that it has something to do with the fuses maybe. Also the lights and the radio work fine they arent dimming at all. So i dont really think that its the battery. Any input will be appreciated thanks.

Hopefully fuses are not clicking. If they are, you have major problems. However, if it is relays that are clicking, then the starter assembly (starter motor, solenoid) is probably the issue. It sounds like the starter relay is probably what is clicking, sending power to the starter motor assembly. However, for some reason, the starter motor is not running, either because the motor itself is failing, or because the motor contacts in the solenoid is not making a good connection.

Which engine does your LS have, V6 or V8?

I have a V8. Yeah cause only the relays are clicking. I can even feel them clicking when I put my finger on them when i have someone try to start it.

My wifes 01 did this and she had a new battery put in and it fixed it.

I know. I thought the same thing. It was spinning the starter like normal.
But I heard that something electronic on the motor has to see a certain voltage or it want run.

The most likely culprit here is the battery. On older engines, if you ran the battery dead, you would get a slow starter or a clicking starter solenoid. That is not the case with the LS. I think the ingnition coils require a certain voltage or they won't fire. I've found that that turning off the head lights , the stereo and anything else that is drawing power helps. Other than that, either charging the battery (if it will accept the charge) or replacing it are the end solutions. The part that sucks is that the 04 LS battery is a "dealer only" part from what I've found and they want $100 for it.
