Top Speed???

Hello, I have a 97 Civic DX with a header and cold air intake. My car is quick off the line, but when I hit about 3rd gear, it drags like crazy and on the highway, I hardly have any acceleration. Can anyone tell me some of the best ways to increase my speed at high speeds I'm getting tired of smoken people off the line, then they just fly by me. PLEASE help!!!!

Swap your motor there really is no other way to squeeze power out of the dx

i say swap in a usdm b16a2, a b18c1 or a h22a. i think it would be cheaper to install a h22a than a b18c1

either or both b series and h22 are great and relatively simple to install with the right equipment and knowledge plus you can spend the money on aftermark. stuff for those instead of wasting it on trying to squeeze unimpressive gains from your dx.Believe me I thought my lil machine was quick till I swapped out,it is a completely different beast.

The only thing about swapping is the mula. Which I can't fork out $1000 just as pocket change, so I don't know, thanks for the input though.

Short of installing nitrous, there's going to be no way to get any cost effective power out of that engine

i dont think anyone can just dish out $3000 like that. you just have to save up for it little by little, thats what everyone has to do. like for me i am gonna go ls turbo so i figure ill spend about $9000, i calculated that its gonna take me 3 years to save up that much money, its a long a slow proceses but that what you gotta do. or you can go get a loan from a bank and get it now and just pay it back little by little. or ask your parents for a loan.

LOL Yea something like that... I know you have been wearing them shoes for 5 years, and your toes have popped out the front, and the soles have fallen off.. but I really need to get these internals rebuilt.
