71 302 carb problem

have a 71 stang with a 302 in it with a holley 650dp right now. the problem is that when the car get hot and i mean 180 or a little less when i punch it to the floor it stumbles and starts to die until i let off the gas then its fine. it idles fine just when the secondairys open it wants to die. but when its cold its fine. if i punch it at 2,000 rpms then its fine and runs great until it hits about 3,000 then sounds like the motors lost all its power. also when its in park and punch it, it stumbles and wants to die you can smell raw gas. but as soon as you let go of the gas it returns to idle and is fine. even easing into the gas while driving makes no difference. it even did this same thing when i had my holley 600 vac secondairys on it. it never did it with the old 2bbl that it came with. could it be the fuel pump? i know at idle the pump is holding 7psi. don't know about driving it.
