Looking for a Tranny in Michigan!

No not that kind of tranny

This kind.
#F48P 7000 BB
off a 95 WS.

If you have one and live in michigan let me know your price, if you live in michigan and know where i can find a good deal on one please inform me i am from the grand rapids area.
The places i have called around to are between $500 and $600. Not to be cheap but thats more than i wanted to spend on a used transmission. I was thinking 2 or 300. Am i being naive? These junkyards say that they are an oddball tranny thats why there isnt alot and they are so high priced. Is this accurate or am i not doing enough research into finding one?
Any advice would be helpfull.

Re: Looking for a Tranny in Michigan!

Yea I don't deal with junk yards anymore On engines or trans. Sometimes you end up worse than what you have. For instants I put a used 22r nissan motor in my late father's truck. 700.00 bucks. It ran worse than what i took out that had a soon to fail rod.. It had a rod knock that was getting louder every day so I told my dad to park it. we got the motor that was supposed to have been good and replaced it. All that work for nothing.Smoked liked crazy. He drove it for a while and parked it.He did not want to return it said "too much trouble". He passed away before I got a chance to rebuild that one.

Re: Looking for a Tranny in Michigan!

Bluntz

I had my trannie go out on my 97 LeSabre. I picked up a used one from a bone yard for 600.00. I've been happy with this trannie. I was being picky about trying to find one under 100,000 miles on it. I learned that to find the trannie that "fit" my car (I believe they used 3 different trannies on the 97...)I had to get the one over 100,000 miles and 600.00.

Food for thought...

Dan
