Fuel Cut Off To Early. Cut Off At 6500rmp
I SWAP A B16A1 IN TO MY 92 HATCH VX BODY. THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS THAT IT WONT GO PAST 6500RPM. IT IS REDLINEING AT 6500. V-TECH WORKS, I SWITCH THE FUEL PUMP, IM USEING AN 92 EX ENGINE HARNESS, USING A P28 ECU WITH A SKUNK2 CHIP(4800RMP TO 9000RPM) I'VE TRIED A P30 ALSO A P72 AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS. THANK YOU FOR READING.
HELP IS NEEDED PLZ.

Could be a bad distributer or weak fuel pump. I'd bag that chip though.

Re: Fuel Cut Off To Early. Cut Off At 6500rmp
thats what i thought too. but i did switch the distibuter and switch the fuel pump to a integra fuel pump. the same thing happens. also the fuel cut off isnt at the same spot all the time. it changes from 6200rpm to 7000rpm. what chip should i use instead of the skunk2 chip then?? thank you
any other ideas why my fuel is cutting off like this?? |

hmm.. did you get that chip off ebay? its probably not a true skunk2 chip unless you got it from an authorized skunk2 dealer. and when you did the swap, why didnt you put in the b16 ecu?
If you dont have the ECU, i would just chip it and run a b16 basemap from crome |

Re: Fuel Cut Off To Early. Cut Off At 6500rmp
well, i just got done switching spark plugs and fuel injetors. same thing seems to be happening. but now the cut off seems to be a little higher now. its from 6500rpm to 7800rpm. it seems that i am buring rich. i rebuilt my b16 motor, i put in ctr pistons and rings, also clevit bearings and ported the head. do u guys think i need to break the motor in more. also with the ctr pistons, would u guys know what compression im sitting at? thanks..

Re: Fuel Cut Off To Early. Cut Off At 6500rmp
compression, have no idea, but there is a thread on here somewhere that has compression ratings with each head/piston combination
you should be checking your basics, ignition tension (with a multimeter), fuel pressure, pump, filters, etc... get yourself a haynes manual for the car that the engine came from, and one for the car that you have... they'll help more than having nothing at all. |
