Connecting battery sets off alarm

1996 Jimmy. We removed an existing amp power cable from the battery, now when we reconnect the battery the alarm goes off. Any thoughts as to how to make it stop? The remote doesn't do it.

Go to the fuse box and see if the fuse is bad...thats what happend with my car! good luck

If its a factory alarm, you put the key in ignition and turn it to on and there should be a little pushbutton under the dash below the stearing column. Push the button and that should turn off the alarm
