what years did the 2.0 liter zetec come in the contours?

Considering the heads are different from the 2.0L in the contour and the 2.0L in the focus, im going to guess the valve covers are different.

valve covers are different i need the valve cover gasket for the contour but they are the same size and bolt patern so it should work

i want to paint my valve cover but i cant find any high temp paint for plastic so im gunns try a metal one from a contour

focus valve cover will work but you need longer bolts. and it will only work on pre98 (95-97)

either way, it sounds like the bolts arent interchangable. Sounds like your going to need shorter bolts.

then do what Jim said, use shorter bolts instead.

1996 Mercury Mystique (Ford Contour) 2.0 Zetec
114,000 miles

upon inspection after my car died doing about 60 mph, I found
1. oil leaking (shooting) into air fliter...
2. oil shooting out of where you pour it in the engine (a lot of air pressure)
3. all 4 spark plugs are almost completely covered in oil
(only tip wjhere it connects to the wires are exposed above the pool of oil.

i don't know much about engines, but i must have some kind of oil leak...maybe a gasket or something

**any advice would be very helpful at this point to see what I can do
