Firebird weight
Looking at my title for my 1968 Firebird, it's listed as weighing 3700#. Is this accurate? Across the internet I have read conflicting information about the weight of muscle cars (anything from 2700# Mustangs and 3200# Chevelles to 2 ton camaros). Has any 1st gen F-body owner ever weighed their car? All help is appreciated.

Re: Firebird weight
Scott's '68 weighed 3,250 at VMP last year (no driver). It has some interior parts removed, but also has a 10-point cage installed. The main part of the car is still intact. I would think this is in the ballpark for most 1st-gen F-bodies.

Re: Firebird weight
I did the tire contact area x tire pressure method. It's a real rough estimate, but I got 3331 lbs w/o drive and coolant. With a 52.5/47.5 front/rear weight ratio.

Re: Firebird weight
You might consider driving or towing it to a scale, just to be certain. That would of course, depend how important knowing the exact weight is to you. If you do, I'd be interested in the results.

Re: Firebird weight
I will onces she's drivable, I need to set up the exhaust and hook up a battery. Where can I weigh my car in the Philly, area? Are there public weigh bridges in America?
