Re: Good Component speaker Systems?

Alpine Type R, Polk Audio Signature Reference, Rockford Fosgate Power, Kicker SS to name a few. I dunno buddy I'm pretty clueless over here myself. I'm pretty partial to Alpine Type R because I've owned them but then again I'm partial to Rockford Fosgate Punch not Power because I've owned Punch. So I think I'm gonna wait just like you for comments. I got to hear some MB Quart Reference today just off a JVC deck though. Maybe it was because they was on a deck but they didn't sound as good as my Alpine's did and they was ran off a Blaupunkt deck. I dunno I'm trying to find what seems like the perfect system myself, so good hunting!

Re: Good Component speaker Systems?

Just about all speakers, full range or components, are gonna sound better with an external amp. I didn't even think it was possible to run components from a deck amp. Anyway, I don't know much about components myself, but i'd just go with decent brands and up like the ones mentioned, pay attention to the materials used, and make sure they are getting a good amount of power. Someone once said when it comes to speakers its better to overpower than underpower.

Re: Good Component speaker Systems?

I'd go with nothing but CDT or RE Audio, everything else is inferior.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

While I love both brands, there are definitely some far superior products out there. Nothing is really "the best." But most custom shop brands will walk all over the big box brands (best buy etc.)

Re: Good Component speaker Systems?

I have CDT 5.2 HD or whatever. The mids are ok, the tweeters are not high caliber at all. I replaced the tweets already, I will replace the whole set when I get done with my rex.
