98 Grand Caravan Front A/C
I have a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan ES AWD, 3.8. Recently the front A/C unit started blowing mostly warm air. The rear A/C works fine and the system is fully charged. Reciruclating the air, tends to make it a little cooler, but not much. I have plenty of heat, if I wanted it, and it makes no difference where I set the air flow(floor, vent, defrost).
After a long trip this past week, I noticed condensation dripping on the floor mat on the passenger side. Upon closer inspection, the box housing the A/C unit inside the van was completely wet on the outside and very cold, so I would assume the A/C system itself is working. My problem is where do I go from here? Is this a common issue with a simple fix, or do I need to save my money and go to the dealer for a repair? Thanks for any help you can provide. |

Re: 98 Grand Caravan Front A/C
Sounds like it could be a blend door in the ventilation system is dead, not allowing cool air in the cabin. It may just have to be recalibrated. Try one of these procedures. If nothing works, there are numerous posts on these procedures on the forum: http://www.allpar.com/fix/codes-climate.html
