question about towing package
I've noticed many 1500 Suburbans with hitch recievers and 7 pin, but I'm wondering does that mean the unit will also have a factory transmission cooler?

Re: question about towing package
No it doesn't. When I was shopping for the 2 Suburbans I have purchased I noticed that alot of them had the hitches but about half had the tranny cooler. I was looking in the range of 1994 to about 1998. I am not sure about the newer models.

Re: question about towing package
Kawa,
Did you end up putting after-market coolers on? What type of towing are you doing? Travel trailer? boat? Thanks. |

Re: question about towing package
On the first Sub. I did for just light trailer towing (utility, car dolly). The Sub. I have now came with a factory cooler and I have not towed with it yet. On the first one I added a larger cooler than I needed. I think it was for up to 12000 lbs. of towing. I used the copper tube and aluminum fin type. It worked well with no problems. I read the stacked plate type cooler that GM uses is better but costs more.
