M3 Sedan

If M3 wants to compete better in the imported compact high performance sector, I think that BMW should consider resurrecting the M3 4-door sedan to go against the AMG C32, the possible high performance Lexus IS and the Corvette engined Cadillac CTS.

What do you think?

Won't happen. Already, the M3 performs as well as the more expensive M5. Make a 4-door M3 and it will cut into M5 sales too much.

Well isn't the M5 competition actually confined to the Jaguar S-Type R, Mercedes Benz E55 Kompressor and the possible Lexus product that will compete with the E55. Just to let you know that the M5 sedan is priced to compete with the MB E55 Kompressor and the Jag S-Type R.

If you actually put the M3 4-door in, it would really mean that the C32, high performance Lexus IS, V8 powered Cadillac CTS have a better competition, pricewise.

It would make sense to make the M3 sedan because the M5 will be phased out in the coming model year due to the introduction of the E60 5 series. An E46 M3 sedan would fill that gap nicely.
