02 x-type cd changer with no power

i have an 02 x-type sport, the car runs great, but not too long ago it stopped reading cd's in the changer, i took out the changer and took it apart enough to use a cue tip and some rubbing alcahol on the lense, since i plugged it back in, if i hit the cd button it wont even go to it, it wont even eject the magazine... i was wondering if there is a security code for it or do i just have to take it to a dealership to have them fix it?

Did you plug the fiber optic cable back into the cd changer? If that is not plugged in it won't know that there is a changer installed.
