Exclamation 04' Yukon XL suddenly blowing 40a fusible links?

This is very strange, suddenly my beautiful Yukon XL is misbehaving. I went to move it this afternoon after driving it all morning and it's blowing it's ignition 40a fusible link under the hood.

40a has got to be a HUGE dead ground. I can't for the life of me think what might be going on. at $3.00 a kink I'm not going to be doing much testing.

The wife said that the truck whilst idling this afternoon parked was making wierd noises that seemed to coincide with the A/C cycling. Maybe I'll pull the A/C fuses and see what happens.

Any ideas folks?

p.s. all my acessories work, the battery has juice, etc.

I assume this fusible link flows into the AC compressor?

What stopped operating/how did you discover the 40 amp fuse was blown? The large fuses in the underhood fuseblock generally power multiple circuits and fuse blocks at other locations in the vehicle. And just a thought..... take a look down by your parking brake pedal. There's a wiring harness just to the left of it that has a tendency to rub through and short out wires on the pedal. If this is the case, you may find the cause of the blown fuse.

Re: 04' Yukon XL suddenly blowing 40a fusible links?

I would also like to know the symptoms, and any fix. My 2003 Yukon Denali stalled on the road a couple days ago. I was traveling about 50 MPH when I heard a "bam", and then realized my truck had quit. The info display said something like "ride stability needs checking". I coasted to the side of the road and then tried getting it running again. It then acted as if the starter was shorted -- lights worked, but no turn-over -- and the gear selector has no pointer to indicate what gear is selected.

I had AAA take the truck to the dealer I go to for warranty work, but no diagnsis yet after a day and a half.
