HELP with this smell!!

I recently got a T/A 98. The seller was smoker and never took care of the inside of the car. It was nasty but I got a good deal. I pulled all the seats out and clean them with soap and water. I shampoo all the carpet twice with a little green machine( it warms the cleaning solution, its nice ). I let all dry with doors and runk open. I wipe every surface of the car with water and soap. I used some spray that helps with the bad odors and use Febreze. I prolly cut down the cigarette smell by 75% but it still smells pretty bad. Any other sugestions besides taking it to a detail shop and ask them to do it? Any help will be greatly apreciated.

Re: HELP with this smell!!

the rest of the smell is probably coming in from the ventilation system. spray some sort of odor neutralizer in thru the wiper cowl while the vents are on full blast. see if that helps.

Re: HELP with this smell!!

shampo the carpets, clean ALL the interior with an all-purpose cleaner and find somewhere that has an ozone machine and leave it there for 12 hours. I worked at a car wash and i did interior details that is how we got rid of them. also spray the cleaner in the air vents and blow in it with an air compressor. you can do this or have a detail service do it and it should be around 100 dollars

Re: HELP with this smell!!

Yeah I heard about the ozone machine. I still don't get that liquid that you pour in the radiator is going to help since it is only inside the tubing of the heater core... that doesn't make any sense. The smell got way better since i drive with the windows down and I been using some spray that you put thru the cowl vent and it getting better.
