2.5 turbo balance shafts

I have heard/read where some people have removed the balance shafts(plugged the oil hole) on their turbo lebaron. i did so but now i hear a rattling noise especially when letting off the throttle above 45 mph. is this related? I did hear some noise from the turbo and i did replace it. but the main noise is still there...please any help will be greatly appreciated. ( the wife wants a quiet car).

Re: 2.5 turbo balance shafts

The only person I know that took out the balance shafts ended up with a nasty vibration and had to replace the engine. Could your rattle be a vibration?

Re: 2.5 turbo balance shafts

no, definitely not a vibration........almost sounds like a rod knocking......but i have already replaced the crank and bearings, that is when i took out the shafts....i have good oil pressure. i did have some trans trouble a while back...i wonder if it could be in teh torque converter or front pump?
