Loud whine in right rear
My strpdughter has a 2002 Focus I believe. I drove it today and noticed a loud dull whine coming from the right rear. Tire appears ok. Just curious if anyone had had a similar problem?

Re: Loud whine in right rear
I had a similar problem with my 2000 ZTS. I figured out that it was a wheel bearing by taking it out on a smooth pavement and drove the car up to 40mph, put it in neutral, and coasted, shut off the engine to see what the noise was. (be sure not to shut off the key too far to lock up the wheel) Mine was a sort of growling noise. Your car may have a recall on the bearings. Mine didn't. good luck

My 2001 ZX3 had that problem. there was a recall on the bearings. I cant even count how many recalls that car has had. In addition to every other problem that wasnt considered a recall. They should have called it the "Ford Fuctus"

Re: Loud whine in right rear
it's a good car.....just some things in the early years went awry....... go pull a hub off of a wrecked focus, and replace it......simple.....
after 2002 everything is good to go....... |
