Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.5 Diesel No ignition Lights

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd 2.5 Diesel.
Sometimes the vehicle cuts out when driving along but restarts when the ignition is turned off and then on again. The problem is getting worse now and the vehicle sometimes will crank over but not restart, I have noticed that when it will not start, there is no ignition lights displayed on the instrument cluster, and anything powered by ignition does not work!when the ignition lights come back on the vehicle will restart, has anyone got any idea's? Is there an ignition relay somewhere hidden? or perhaps a bad connection at a multiplug?

I'm not sure the answer to your issue, but I'm curious about the diesel. Are you in the U.S.? I haven't seen diesels here.

There could be a loose wire or a short. Maybe an auto parts store can scan for codes to see if there's a sensor error.

Not US Diesel = UK

The cutting out and then restarting sounds like what I have seen people report prior to a crank sensor finally going permanently bad.

Are you just shutting off or stuttering to a stop?

Stuttering to a stop might be fuel pump related.
