new issue

i havent fixed the boost leak yet, still trying to cope with it. my new problem is a little more detrimental to the life of the car. ive burned up my fusible link 8 times in the past month. it's getting so hot its melted itself to the side of the fuse block. the electric fans i put in arent wired through my electrical system, they are wired seperately. and this never happened until i put the fans in. wtf?

Re: new issue

You shorted something somewhere. Remove all the fan work and start fresh. One thing you need to bear in mind is that those fans draw a lot of amperage.

Re: new issue

so do you think the fans are pulling so much amperage that the alternator (new btw) is putting too much through the fusible link? wtf should i do about that? gotta have fans. maybe put em on low? i have them wired on high all the time

Re: new issue

No, I think it is the way you wired them in that is causing the problem.

Re: new issue

so one day i said "screw it im puttin it in the shop, i cant figure it out." long story short, i paid $100 for half a roll of black tape and a week sitting behind the shop. me = furious. but their sucking balls helped me out in a way. i put it in the shop because it dies once the engine gets warm. they found my boost leak. didnt fix it, but found it. passenger side of the intercooler had a flex pipe and in between the ribs were a bunch of slits. so boost leak is gone, havent burned a link in 2 weeks *knock on wood* though i still need to rewire it. but now that im putting most of the horsepower to the ground, my clutch is goin out. like the previous owner said, "once you fix something on this car, something more expensive and more important will break."
