1997 gs

i just got a 1997 gs, is there any cheap upgrades to make it faster? thanks for all of the help.

Hey Lynn. The '97-'04 GS models have only the L67 SII 3800.

Sorry Bob don't follow Buick as much as Pontiac.

You can always start with the basics, Cold air intake, open up the exhaust and lower the size of the pulley slightly on the supercharger. You will be amazed at the increase in the performance. Of course the more you have to spend the more power you can make.

Remember ...It's not only about the motor...If you add HP and Torque it will take a toll on the tranny. Also you will need more expensive tires tahn the stock tires.

to change the pulley on the supercharger would i need to change all of the pulleys on the engine and also replace the belt?

Changing the pulley on the supercharger only requires that you change the nose pulley. All of the other pulleys will work just fine. If you drop the pulley diameter from stock to a 3.4 you should be able to use the stock belt but I recommend a gatorback belt for durability. You also need a special tool to remove the old pulley so don't pry but as for the other engine pulleys they will work just fine.
