Re: fuel injector upgrade?

http://www.stealth316.com/2-injectortypes.htm

different style of injectors.

NAs have high-resistance injectors. TTs have low-resistance injectors. to make TT injectors work on the NA harness, you simply have to wire in some resistors. however, without increased airflow (forced induction, or nitrous oxide), upgraded injectors are a waste, and actually can cause your engine harm if not tuned properly.

as i recall, jeff, you have some head work done? before upgrading injectors, i would get a datalogger and watch your O2s at WOT. also, you can check your IDC (injector duty cycles). but most likely the stock injectors will be able to compensate for the minimal additional air provided by head work (port and polish, etc).

unless you are running upgraded cams, the stock injectors should work fine.

bottom line, get a datalogger and monitor your engine parameters to first see if you are maxing out your stock injectors. if you are, then an injector upgrade might be a good idea.

Re: fuel injector upgrade?

Theres no need for upgraded injectors in a NA 3s. The stock 210s are actually too much for it as is.

Re: fuel injector upgrade?

well i figured the air to fuel ratio was messed up a lil with some of the forced air that was added..guess not? ill probly just leave them alone..dont feel like messin with it..car runs good..dont fix what aint broken

Re: fuel injector upgrade?

You'll be lucky to find any. RPW in Australia has some but they are butt load expensive. GT Pro actually carried them for awhile as the US distributor and charged like $1400 for them. Custom is about your only choice/

Actually you don't have any forced induction. Also, watching a narrowband O2 sensor doesn't really tell you anything. Datalogger would be your best bet to see how your engine is doing.

Re: fuel injector upgrade?

hmm..well what about like SL camshafts..or vr4 ones? are those compatible with base model ones? just use 2 of em? or would that just be to easy so they made it so you have to spend 1400$ to do this job?

Re: fuel injector upgrade?

i'm pretty sure the DOHC camshafts just don't fit on the SOHC engines.

forced induction is forcing air into the combustion chamber by means other than the vacuum of your engine. a supercharger, turbocharger and nitrous oxide are forms of forced induction. the oxygen atom in the N20 is what provides the extra power. 1 part oxygen for every 2 parts of nitrogen, and nitrogen by itself is diatomic and inert. and the oxygen is pure, so it provides a much better burn as compared to air.

Re: fuel injector upgrade?

Youre correct linebacker. There are no similarities between the SOHC and DOHC cam shafts. Even the cam gears are 100% different. You got to remember the SOHC is opening both intake and exhaust valves and on the DOHC one opens intake valves and one opens exhaust valves.
