I finally found it!! according to the dealer, this procedure is for the 2002 to 2003s. We bought a 03 SE and my wife dropped her key under the rear tire and without knowing I drove over it. so we got a new FOB.
The dealer was happy to give it to me so here is the procedure. let me know if it works. 1. Driver door open and unlocked. Key out of the ignition 2. Insert the key and remove 2 times in 5 sec. 3. Close and open driver door 2 times in 40 sec. 4. Insert the key and remove it again from ignition. 5. Close and open driver door 2 times in 40 sec. 6. Insert the key in ignition, 7. Close the door, 8. Turn to on and back to lock in 1 second intervals. 1 time for add, 2 times for rewrite, 3 for confirmation 5 for prohibition. (yes, there is no “4”) 9. Remove the key 10. Power lock will cycle to confirm 11. For add or rewrite mode within 40 sec of the confirmation, A. press “lock” and “unlock” buttons of the FOB at the same time between 1 and 1.5 seconds. B. within 3 sec press “Lock” button for more than 1 sec and release. C. If it’s correct, the power door lock will cycle once. If it’s wrong the door lock will cycle twice. |

IT WORKS!
Thank you, Huckleberry! It works flawlessly, though I had to rewrite both fobs within the last 40 seconds. I really appreciate this, esp. since the dealer gave me some B-S line about having to hook a computer up to it in order to program the fobs...at considerable cost, no doubt! |

I programmed 2 fobs and they all work fine but you have to be really close to the car to remote open the trunk. Same as the one that came with the car. Maybe if you re-program it again? |

Re: Re: Re: Programming '02 Camry Keyless Entry
The panic works, trunk doesn't, no matter how close I get. it does beep though. I think this is an electircal problem that I need to dig into, now that I know that no extra programming needed for the trunk.
Thanks. Quote:

Hi Huckleberry- I have a Camry '02 and tried your proceedure, but no joy. A little clarifiation: on step #8, does it mean you turn the key 5 times, or stop at one, two, or three? Also, #11, what is "add" & "rewrite"; what are you adding & rewriting? (Sorry for my denseness) When I did it the first time, the locks cycled back & forth as in step 10, but the remote didn't work. In fact, my one working one now don't work! sigh! Thanks! rbs |

Re: Programming '02 Camry Keyless Entry
Just programmed a new remote I purchased on eBay according to your instructions and it worked great. I did have to do it twice -- the first time it didn't seem to "take." Now I need to find the right forum to get the instructions for programming the new remote to my Hyundai Santa Fe!!
Thanks ---<Rick |

Re: Programming '02 Camry Keyless Entry
When I first read Huckleberry's instructions, I thought someone was pulling my leg pretty hard. But it worked for me and I added a remote to my 2003 Camry LE. Thanks Huckleberry.
Regarding the posting by rchatto about the trunk button not working. A quick push of the trunk button will not open the trunk. Push the button for several seconds and it should open. Mine takes about three seconds. |

THANK YOU!! The instructions worked just as you described. The dealer was going to charge me $80.00, he told me that it would take a technician at least one hour and it involved hooking up a computer and quite a lot of technical knowledge to complete the programing. Everything, door locks, trunk, and panic button all worked perfectly the first try. Thanks Again!!
