Common Engine Swaps

go to youtube and search: quick crown vic with lightning motor

That's too complicated and i don't want to deal with too much wiring.Too darn much. Here's my question and it's for those who have done engine swaps and are familiar with different engines.

1999 Ford CVPI -- want to swap engine to good ol' carburated v8

Choices? 351, maybe 302 (bored to 306), 331 stroker, or even 460 big block. What are the differences in engine mounts and what fabrication is necessary. Also, which one will mate with current tranny (which will, ofcourse, need rebuid)

Re: Common Engine Swaps

What is it that you are looking for? More power?

From my own experience the 4.6L is very reliable, and there is a lot of aftermarket parts available for it. I would stay with the 4.6 for daily driving.

Now if you are trying to put together a drag race car that's a different story. Can't help you there.

Good luck!
