97 4.2L engine swap question????

I posted a thread in the E Series and found out today that this is a Econoline van. ( asking questions for a friend) The 4.2 L Engine in the vehicle now has a knock, have found a 4.2L engine out of a 95 Thunderbird. WIll the engine swap without doing any mods or does the oil pan need to be changed? Would the pcm and ecm modules be the same on both vehicles?? The vin # is 29527060417. Manufactored date is January of 1997. I believe everything should be compatiable. All input would be greatly appreciated.
