Radiator Fans Not Working

Hi All,

I've got a 1996 TransSport. What's happening (or not happening depending how you look at it) is neither the pusher or puller fans will come on automatically when the engine gets too hot. I can see the temp gauge go above 100, but the fans will not come on.

Both fans physically do work, as when I turn on the A/C, the puller fan will come on, however the pusher fan remains off. I've jumpered power to the pusher fan and it turned on, so I know it physically works also.

I can't quite figure out which relay is for the fans, as there are 4 or 5 of them all together, but I did try switching some of them around, hoping that if there was a bad relay, the other fan would not work, but I wasn't able to find one that was bad.

Anyone have any ideas? Is there a separate temperature sensor perhaps that sets off the fans? Maybe even a separate fuse somewhere that I'm missing?

Ed

Re: Radiator Fans Not Working

Sorry, I forgot to convert it to degrees F...

The fans didn't come on at all, even when it went way past the 222 that it should have come at (I think). It got to the point that i could start to smell coolant, as the rad cap was probably letting off the pressure.
