Re: up & down idle problem...

Sounds like a dirty throttle body and IAC valve. Try cleaning them out with carb cleaner and see if it straightens out.

Re: up & down idle problem...

Anyone have some suggestions for name brands of carb cleaner that are safe to use to clean the throttle body, MAF sensor, etc.?

Fish96,

Please use lower case whenever possible otherwise you are shouting according to forum etiquette.

I use STP brand spray Throttle Body and Air Intake Cleaner and Gunk brand for MAF sensor.

Re: up & down idle problem...

Hi,

I face the same problems with my 00' GP SE. The car engine rpm gauge would idle up and down for some odd reason. So are you saying what causing it is the throttle Position need cleaning? And that I should use Air intake cleaner and spray Throttle Body, Gunk brand for MAF sensor. If so, please reply, I can use the extra help...
