99 Blazer ABS light staying on?

What would cause the abs light to come on and stay on? I checked all fuses and breakers but they are alright. Anyone have any clues what could be wrong, also is it unsafe to drive with the light on?

Re: 99 Blazer ABS light staying on?

the light comes on when there is a problem in the abs system. with the light on, the abs system will not work. you can still drive the truck but allow more braking distance, especially in bad weather. you need to have the computer scanned with a scanner that will read abs codes. that will tell you what the problem is. post the code(s) and we will be able to help you further.
